| Memorial Healthcare Group - The first accredited Hospital in Turkey |
Memorial Hospital Okmeydani is the first health services project of Memorial Health Group founded in 1995. Memorial Hospital started operations in February 2000 and received the TSE (Turkish Standards Institute) quality certificate (ISO 9001) in December 2000. Memorial became the first hospital in Turkey and the 21st in the world to receive the JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation in March 2002 and renewed the accreditation in April 2005. Memorial Health Group (MHG) provides high quality healthcare services in international standards to its local and international patients with its 55.000 square meter closed area, 203 bed capacity(48 beds in ICU) and 8 operating rooms. In 2006, Memorial had 119.061 outpatients, 13.710 inpatients and 5.811 surgeries. Memorial Health Group currently operates 2 outpatient clinics, one in the European side and the other one in the Asian side of Istanbul. Construction of a new hospital facility (Memorial Atasehir) in the Asian side of Istanbul which will be opened in the last quarter of 2007 has started recently. |

Memorial also received license to carry out organ transplantation as the first private hospital in Turkey in March 2004 and still is the only private hospital in Turkey to carry out kidney and liver transplantation. Prof. Dr. Munci Kalayoglu, leaving his position as the Director of Liver Transplantation Program at University of Wisconsin, joined Memorial in 2006 as the head of Organ Transplantation and General Surgery Department.
Memorial Health Group recently has undergone an investment to totally renew its radiology department to have the latest technology available. Memorial has the 64-slice CT since January 2007 along with all the other new radiology equipment including the new 1,5 Tesla MRI, Ultrasonography, Digital fluoroscopy, Angiography, digital mammography and the latest version of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
Memorial Hospital at Okmeydani has a 5-star class guest house inside for its national and international patients. It is a 10-room hotel located within the hospital for patients and their families.
