In the middle of the olives trees of Al-Koura, surrounded by the mountains of the north of Lebanon and the cedars forests, a few kilometers away from Tripoli, one modern hospital was born on 1994. This project, which is animated by a group of highly qualified physicians who have studied and practiced in Europe and the United States of America, is based on four principal structures. Thus Al-Koura Hospital is a center of modernity, technology, knowledge and devotion in the middle of the nature far from the stress of the city.

AUBMC  is the private, not-for-profit teaching center of the Faculty of Medicine. It consists of a 420-bed medical center and provides all medical, surgical, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecological and psychiatric services. The Medical Center offers comprehensive healthcare services, extensive tertiary resources, medical, nursing and paramedical training.

Sahel General Hospital was founded on April 13, 1983 by the efforts of Dr. Fakhry Z. Alame, the Chief Surgeon and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dr. Alame was assisted by a group of highly qualified physicians and administrators all of whom are graduates of leading American, Canadian, European and local Medical and Management schools. The combined efforts of the board have broadened the scope of our activities and services. It brought the hospital a long way in a relatively short period (inpatients census over 12500 per year and outpatients census stands at about 30000 per year). SGH was founded with the purpose of serving its community. Hence, it stands today with its present capacity of 172 beds (long term potential capacity of 225 beds) as a monument among the crowded southern suburbs of the city of Beirut, extending services to a population exceeding 700 thousand and increasing at a rate of 7-8 % yearly.
